Al Qaeda Establish Links with Jihadi Groups: Report

This report was published in Daily Dawn on May 13, 09 edition it stated that;

Al Qaeda is trying to establish links inside Pakistan with jihadi groups, rather than Taliban, to exploit the current instability in the Pakistan and also to relieve some of the pressure that has been put on them by continuing strikes by the US drones, says The Guardian correspondent Jason Burke in a report (Al Qaeda’s push into Pakistan) on Tuesday.

Quoting sources inside intelligence agencies but without naming them he said that the group led by several dozen senior militants from Central Asia had already set up links with Lashkar-i-Taiba and was now probing others like Jaish-i-Mohammad, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen Islami and Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.

For international militants, he said, Pakistan had a particular significance as the birthplace of the new wave of modern Islamic militancy in the 1980s during the war against the Soviets.

“The battle against Pakistan’s secular elected government – and thus indirectly against its western backers – is being cast as the continuation of the successful struggle against the Soviets,” he added.

I say that

In my opinion this is not a new story Al Qaeda's back links have always been with Pakistans' Jihadi Groups and this was already notified by Late Benazir Bhutto Shaheed several time publicly and in her book too written few days before her sad demise and also in her letters sended to various Heads of different countries but no one gave any reasonable response towards her notion.

Back to the topic if Al Qaeda would have established links with the said groups then it would have open a new task or might be a difficult one for Pakistan Army and Government of Pakistan as well, we will have to ready either for a new war/operation same like as continues in Sawat, Dir & in Bajur or it is quite possible that the current operation will merged in the new one (after Al Qaeda's influence) in both the case Pakistan will have to faced more difficulties in future i.e., finacial & economical.
