Pak Army Calculatedly Aimed for Taking the Mehsud

Pak Army Calculatedly Aimed for Taking the Baitullah Mehsud As a military assault fumes on against the Taliban in Malakand and Swat, the government on Sunday ordered a “full-fledged” military operation against Taliban head Baitullah Mehsud including his tribes for wharfing terrorists, supporting terrorist activities and slaughtering naive and guiltless people.

I think this was, maybe, the first major sign that the Pak Army calculatedly aimed for taking the chief of Taliban head Baitullah Mehsud, my above mentioned thinking is not because I love my country and army but it is based upon recent statements of army’s senior officials which I definitely want to sahre with the readers of VOPN;

1- Army Chief General Ashfaq Kayani said recently “he (Baithullah Mehsud) has a hand in virtually every terrorist attack in Pakistan."

2- Another senior military officer said, “we wanted to deliver a message to Baitullah. If he carries out a suicide bombing, then there will be a response and that he can’t get away with these attacks. There will be a quid pro quo.’

In no doubt, the government had delivered the message to the Taliban head face-to-face in the course of tribal intermediaries.

Fight positions have been placed in South Waziristan. While numerous new rising aspects may help the armed action, the mother of all combats beside Pakistani activists in South Waziristan, in all possibility, will be hard and full from blood.
