Electricity Failure-Is There Any Solution? Part 2

Bookmark and Share

Power failure struck again in the previous week and mostly at the time of Sehri & Aftari when people in houses usually engage in preparation of Sehri or Aftari, I was reading an article about the power failure in a local news paper the writer of the article suggests that when power sector wants to increase electricity prices up it uses this kind of techniques,I am extremely sorry to my readers for the delay in publishing of second part but I am trying to get more facts to present you the correct picture.

Power failure struck again in the previous week and mostly at the time of Sehri & Aftari when people in houses usually engage in preparation of Sehri or Aftari, I was reading an article about the power failure in a local news paper the writer of the article suggests that when power sector wants to increase electricity prices up it uses this kind of techniques, if it so then nothing more than shame full that they don't even respect the Holy month of Ramazan the only 30 days when each type of Muslim is trying to engage him more and more in beads.

So I am seeing this problem differently and trying to solve the problem rather then only criticizing and over criticizing it, so I am giving here my suggestion to handle this situation. I know it is little difficult and not easy to implement, but I am sure that if  it will apply correctly then it will solve the problem, concerning my previous post in which I present some of the common type of load shading I was discussed the lower voltage issue that sometimes electricity is not fully cut down but a voltage has been low than usual. The usual amount of voltage is 220v that is normally supplied by the power house and it is receiving by each home equally but when there is a load shading this amount is cut down from 220v to 180v and even 160v, through this type of load shading electrical appliances in a house that are design to operate on 220v are not working properly.

My opinion is start from here, in UK and other countries electrical system is on 110v type of voltage and all appliances in house hold are design to operate on 110v, if Pakistan adopted the same system then its a saving of electricity almost or near about 100% from the current consumption, I don't know the exactness of  this calculation only a technical person could know it well but I know that could solve the problem, yes its a big mess to adopt a new system (because our nation is believe on raising issue rather then trying to find the solution) first and major issue is the changing of electrical appliances in each house that it will be able to operate on 110v that each poor people has a burden on him to change his television set, refrigerators, deep freezers, tube lights, bulbs, computers and all type of electronic item that uses electrical supply to operate this issue is from the user end or the person who pay the electric bill and the other side is the supplier who can raise the issue for the changing of machines, power system and pmts' etc.

I have a plan for the first issue that is changing of electronic appliances in the house hold, that this system will not apply or switch rapidly, instead each house hold has two electrical points first the old one ie., 220v and the second is the new one that is 110v, from the new point consumers may use their light or inexpensive type of equipments such as bulb, tube lights, fans and radio sets and the 220v will be for only refrigerators, deep freezers or other expensive items people may gradually change or switch these expensive items when the market will full from 110v type of appliances, as electronic items has estimated useful life each item will not be useful after 15 or 20 years and consumer has to change these appliances after a particular passage of time.

For the second issue that is changing of machines, pmts' and other power plants, government may borrow loan for this project as if we go towards dams and other projects to overcome the power failure issue the cost is more or like similar and we borrow loan for the dam project then why not for this, secondly if the wiring or cabling of 110v will go under ground rather then pole system or over ground then it could be curtail the power theft problem as late or earlier government has to remove over ground system for maintaining the standards.

This is all I am still saying that it is not an easy task but it will be start of a good change, however its my opinion to solve this issue but as a citizen of Pakistan you can take part in this pole and post your valuable suggestion through comment form may Allah will prosper my country.
