Gilani in Danger | SC Charged Contempt of Court | Contempt Case


The Supreme Court of Pakistan has charged with contempt of court against Prime Minister and ordered him to present before the SC on Feb 13, 2012, as he failed to re-open NAB cases. After SC’s judgment Pakistan’s political condition become unstable again as because PM Gilani could be jailed and become ineligible to hold PM office anymore if find guilty on Feb 13, 2012.

The SC’s declaration was a most important intensification in a case that has steadfast the democratically elected government, when the Court ordered it write to Swiss establishment for asking them to reopen a corruption case against President Asif Ali Zardari that dates to the late 1990s. The government has snubbed it and claiming that the President has the advantage of immunity from trial while in office.

Yousuf Raza Gilani is the 4th Prime Minister of Pakistan facing the charges of contempt of court while his advocate Aitzaz Ahsan has said that he would advise his client to file petition against the accusation.
Aitzaz requested the court to also charge the generals who have been breaking the law throughout different actions.
