India is looking serious to build strong relation with Pakistan this time, according to an Indian news paper Culcutta News, External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna confirms that Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will visit Pakistan soon for further dialogues. S. M. Krishna further stated that "We have already taken the initiative and PM Manmohan Singh is in good faith to carry dialogues further. Provided that the backdrop of having dialogues at the level of foreign secretary. "The foreign secretary of Pakistan came here, and then, perhaps it is time for the foreign secretary of India to go to Pakistan," he said.
Despite talks between the two neighbours during Pakistani Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir's visit to India, nothing fruitful came out and the two sides ended the interaction with a pledge to 'keep in touch', signalling that relations between the nuclear-armed rivals remain frosty.
