Yesterday, on the main road that leads to Swat I saw many people and vehicles preparing to leave. People were saying good bye and were thanking their Mardan hosts for their hospitality.
I've got a friend who works for the police, he is now in Mingora. I bumped into him by chance a few days ago. He had come here to Mardan seven days ago to see his family and went back to Mingora two days later. We talked at length.
He said that the security situation had improved. The army there said that the only way they can defeat the militants is with the support of the ordinary people. So there's a lot less fear and people feel much more confident.
As the man said that the only way they can defeat the militants is with the support of the ordinary people or alternatively we can said that residents of that area because as I already mentioned in my previous posts that the native persons well known each other and they can support army to fight or identify them (activists) well. Secondly lashkars organized and run by local tribal persons are also looking after the infected areas so there's a lot less fear and people feel much more confident to go back to there homes.

Top Fazlullah Aide Including 10 Others Killed in Swat, Gen Athar Abbas
Security sources said that Ehsan alias Abu Jandal was killed in Qambar. Security forces had been facing tough resistance from the Taliban for some days in the area. Abu Jandal was buried on the outskirts of Mingora. Army spokesman Maj-Gen Athar Abbas told AFP on Sunday Abu Jandal had been killed two days earlier in Qambar area. He was a mid-level commander. Security sources in the area confirmed the death.
This is a critical moment if security forces will not capture the whole area quickly then solid chances of activists’ escaped would be possible, security officials will ensure a tight & strict search operation following with the help of resident tribal persons who can recognized the non residents or in other words identify the activists.

Huge Challenges For Pakistan After Swat War, AFP
Grenades, rifles, knives and an ornate sword of the kind allegedly used by the Taliban to behead foes lay on a table in a Pakistan military base, an apparent victor's bounty seized by the army. Among the rocket launchers, Osama Bin Laden T-shirt and bombs hidden in pressure cookers are more mundane signs of life -- passports, driving licences and a child's biology book filled with careful handwritten notes.
World is looking towards Pakistan and if Pakistan fails to overcome the Taliban insurgents in the northwest then chances of super power or powers’ involvement would not be ignored, as I mentioned in my previous posts that US examines the Swat operation to check the nuclear armed Pakistan's capability to tackle insurgents in the northwest and if Pakistan’s fails to proof its strength then it would be possible that US will take over the northwest operation and Pakistan’s nuclear assets as well because Nuclear equipped Pakistan will not be acceptable to west and situations more or less are going accordingly.
The northwest war is enhanced now and its routes are spreading rapidly throughout the country recent blasts in Lahore, Quetta & Sargodha are the parts of this enhanced war, very soon after Lahore blasts its acceptance by the TTP (Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan) is the solid proof of this notion that war is not limited only in the northwest but it extends to the whole country and if registration of IDPs will not handle properly then chances of hurdles will increase because this idea is not wrong that Taliban will enter the cities in masquerade of IDPs.

Pakistan Is Close To Defeat The Taliban In Swat
Pakistan is close to defeat the Taliban in Swat, but battlefield achievement only does not like success, activist leaders are still on the scamper, local governments and police forces have been demolished and millions of residents are dislocated from their residences.
I say that
Even if Pakistan achieves something in eradicating insurgents in one of its most powerful operations yet, the northwestern valley is just one of some activist strongholds in the U.S.-allied country. Earlier, fighting is blazing again in the partially-independent tribal areas adjoining Afghanistan, where al-Qaida and the Taliban are more established than they were in Swat.
The U.S. observes the Swat operation as an analysis of nuclear armed Pakistan's capability and to tackle insurgents in the northwest responsible for hits on American and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Pakistanis Trapped in Swat Face Catastrophe, Group
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Many Pakistanis trapped by an offensive against the Taliban in Swat face cataclysm and authorities should lift a curfew to enable them to get out and for help to get in, a rights group said.
The offensive in the Taliban bastion of Swat, about 120 km (80 miles) northwest of Islamabad, has flashed an migration of 2.3 million people, as per government statistics but about 200,000 people are thought to be still in the valley.
Severe shortages of food, water and medicine are generating a main humanitarian calamity for the trapped civilians, the U.S.-based group Human Rights Watch said.
"People trapped in the Swat conflict zone face a humanitarian catastrophe unless the Pakistani military immediately lifts a curfew that has been in place continuously for the last week," said Brad Adams, the group's Asia director.
"The government cannot allow the local population to remain trapped without food, clean water, and medicine as a tactic to defeat the Taliban," Adams said in a statement on Tuesday.
The army launched its most concerted effort against the Taliban after the militants, emboldened by a controversial peace deal, pushed out of the former tourist valley into neighbouring districts, including one just 100 km (60 miles) from Islamabad.
But the flight of so many civilians poses not only a major burden for an economy being kept afloat by a $7.6 billion International Monetary Fund loan, but could also undercut public backing for the offensive.
Soldiers are slowly moving from house to house battling militants in Swat's main town of Mingora, while clashes are also taking place in several other parts of the valley, the military says.
I say that
This is the worst condition moreover escaped peoples have said that the price of goods in the clash zones is ten-fold high, while medical facility was almost impossible as hospitals had closed their doors and doctors had disappeared from the clash zone, on the one hand residents of Swat are leaving their home for the sake of Pakistan while on the other hand they are facing troubles like living in hot areas with inadequate food and water, unavailability of medical treatment and the list is large, this situation must be seriously tackle by the authorities adequately or this situation will create the same problems as Afghan Mohajrins in 1980's.
