Islamabad, 24 September 2026 - Breaking

Pakistan has conducted precision airstrikes on 10 locations inside Afghanistan, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed today.

According to the minister, drones were launched from Afghan territory on 23 September and were tracked and neutralized by Pakistan's air defence before reaching their targets.

In response, Pakistan carried out "precision aerial and drone strikes" limited to military objectives linked to drone launch and storage sites.

The strikes were reported in Khost province and Kandahar, according to Afghan officials. No casualties have been confirmed yet.

Minister Tarar stated: "Any further provocative act by the Afghan Taliban will be responded with a firm and resolute response," while adding Pakistan remains committed to regional peace.

This comes after tensions escalated following an attack on a police facility in northwest Pakistan last week that killed 24 people.

The Foreign Office has called upon the Afghan Taliban to take verifiable action against terrorist entities operating from Afghan soil.
